Using Office 2007 on Windows 7, 64 bit
If I no longer want to save my exisiting files in Word 97-2003 [.doc] but choose to now save them instead in Word Document [.docx], will they still get backed up or do I have to include them individually in my source to back up?

Thank you.

Hi,
Please send me the .fkc catalog file to see how you configured the backup.

To find that file, go to View->Open Folder->Catalog folder.

Send the file to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

I think you may be misunderstanding me.
Let's say I have the following file in my 'source' of files that get regularily back up with the name 'abc.doc' located in folder c:\my documents. If I decide to save 'abc.doc' which is a Word 97-2003 format as an Office 2007 format which will change the ext. of the file to 'docx'. will the file be rcogognized by my 'source' as being the same file as 'abc.doc' and back it up?

Thank you.

Hi,
No, the new files "abc.docx" is not recognized as "abc.doc" by Backup4all.
The reason why I asked you to send me the backup catalog was to see if you included the entire "My documents" folder and you filtered it to include only files with .doc extension, or you manually picked the files for backup sources.

Are you saying that I need to do one of the following:

1]filter in the .docx ext.

2]or, individually select the file

3]or, make sure the folder containing the file has a check mark for backup as this will backup all files in it
Thank you.
