FBackup fails to make a... (large) backup. Let's fix this.

Post by kylescousin »

Bună ziua!

It's great that you're offering this software free of charge, but if it fails to do the one thing it's made for, there's a real problem :)
I'm trying to make a backup of my C: drive to an external hard-drive, connected with USB3.0.
The C drive does have over million files though, mostly images, totaling 370GB. But, this should not cause any problem.
The software gets stuck at "Prepare files lists" phase. I waited 48 hours and tried 4 times.
Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/WLJXXWG.png

I want to help this tool improve and will test any suggestions you guys have, because I think this backups software is the most straightforward and easy to use. And I think this is probably just a small problem.

Hi,

Do you have version 5.0.192 of FBackup?
Please make sure no antivirus/firewall is blocking any processes of FBackup.
Send me the last backup log from View->Job Logs->Last backup log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

Hi,

The log file states: Error: Another action is already running on job "All Of C".
Please make sure there is no other action in progress for that job. Restart the computer and try again.

I already tried that multiple times.
That "already running" thing is because I click abort and it just keeps aborting. Then when I close it and restart, the previous one is still in the abort status.

Hi,

After you restart the computer where FBackup is installed, the backup job cannot be already running and aborting.
You can also try to close the fbackup.exe process from Task Manager and also the other related processes.
