I've been using FBackup for some time, but I'm concerned about the results. All the files from a drive with folders are zipped into one large file without folders. Thus I may have hundreds of files all lumped together, with no indication of which folder they came from. How do I keep the files in their respective folders in the backup?

I believe that Fbackup's restore procedure would restore the zipped files to the proper directory structure, should you have to restore from backup. To see the directory structure within the backup, you could use the mirror type backup, which creates an identical copy of the directory structure and files.

That makes sense. I just couldn't find it written down anywhere, and didn't want to experiment with restoring files.

Hi,
The .zip file also contains the folder structure.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

I see that the mirror tyle backup keeps the directory structure while the zip'd style doesn't. Once we get a mirror backup functioning reasonably well, how to we add or delete items from the backup. My WinXP backup is always trying to backup system files, which gives "Warning:" messages. I want to exclude those files/directories to eliminate the warning messages. How do I do that?

Hi,
To filter files, please open Backup Properties->Filters.

Press Add, then Add exclude in order to exclude some file types.
