Need to restore a folder deleted on my harddisk.

The folder exists on a previous backup (external harddisk).

How can I solve this problem ?

Hi,
To restore a folder from backup, open FBackup, press Restore select "Choose/filter files and restore the latest version.

Press Next and select which folder to restore.

Press Finish.

The problem is that the missing folder does not exist on the latest version.

How do I restore an older version of the backup ?

Hi,
What is the backup type you use?

Please note if you use the Full backup type, it does not keep track of file versions. A complete backup is created every time and the old backup is deleted.

If you use the Mirror backup type, only new and modified files are copied over the old ones, but the old unchanged files are not deleted.

In this case you can restore the files even if they were deleted. You just need to select the "Restore excluded and deleted files" option from the "Restore Wizard".

Hello

Is there a misunderstanding?:

I have been using two different external harddisks taking Full backup.

Therefore I have a full set of files from a backup one week ago on one of my external harddisks.

Is this of any help ?
Best regards
RB

Hi,
Please note FBackup does not support the scenario you are trying to use with rotating hard drive destinations. That feature is available only in our commercial edition: Backup4all.

The backup catalog is stored both locally and in destination. When you run again the backup to the second drive, the local catalog is overwritten, containing only information about the new files.

Hi,
Just connect the external drive to the new computer and open in FBackup the .fkc catalog file from destination.

That will recreate the backup job in FBackup and you can restore your backup.
