I have the current version of FBackup 4.8 Build 286.
I have always been able to add new icons to the FBackup icon list in the past. I haven't done it since several builds ago.
After clicking the Add button in Icons, when I browse to the icon in my own files that I want and click the open button, nothing happens. It does not add the icon to the FBackup list (window)as it has in the past.
I have this build of FBackup on 2 different Windows 7 PC's, and neither one is working anymore.
Has the procedure changed?
Thank you...

Important Update: I did some additional testing with previous builds for FBackup 4.8.
Icons may still be added and changed in builds 275 and 278. They can no longer be added or changed in builds 285 and 286.
I hope this is helpful information.

Hi,
We are aware of the problem with .ico files.

Have you tried to add another file type?

No. All of my saved icons are .ico
Do you see any issue with me reinstalling build 278 until this is resolved?
Is this problem expected to be resolved in the next build?
If that will be soon, I can just wait.
Thank you...
Technical Question: If I do reinstall an earlier build, can I just load it over build 286 without affecting my backup jobs or files? No uninstall of 286 first? (I save previous install files for situations such as this.)

Hi,
I cannot tell you exactly when the problem will be solved.

If you want to install an older build, you have to uninstall the current one. The backup jobs and settings will be preserved.

It's been over 5 months since my original post, pointing out that the .ico icons are not working in v4.8 build 285 and 286. It doesn't appear that there has been an update since then. Has there been any progress in resolving this bug? Any updates coming?

Thanks

Hi,

We were busy with the development of FBackup 5 which we hope to be released in few days in a beta version.
That problem is fixed in FBackup 5.

That's great news! Congratulations.

Will FB5 be a simple update to 4.8, using the same Catalog and ini files?

Hi,

It will be a new design, new interface, using catalog and ini files, with possibility to import the backup jobs from FBackup 4.
