Partial Backups?

Post by shmuga9 »

Ok so last night I had it do a "full"/compressed backup because mirror just copies the whole file and that'll take up too much space on my computer. I read that mirror is also the option that does partial backups? All I want is now that it's saved the files I want to just update those files, but is that possible if they're all zipped up? If it's not possible to have them compressed AND do partial backups can you point me to a program that does? Also I couldn't find it, but is there a way to say "every month do a full backup and every week do a partial backup"?

Hi,

Using FBackup you can create Mirror backup that way, but they are not zipped.
As a solution for your needs, I can recommend you our commercial edition: Backup4all, which has the Incremental backup type. It creates zipped backups with only the new and modified files.
If you want to configure it to run monthly full backup and weekly incremental, please read this article about how to do that:
