I have just started using Fbackup. I am backing data up to an external drive. I have it set to scheduled back up which runs daily. However, it seems to be taking two and half hours to back up.There isn't that much beind backed up.

I need to be able to back up to the exteranl drive and over write what is already on there but only back up what has changed that day.

I guess this means an incremental back up but I am not sure how to do it.

can you help

many thanks

hi,
If you use the Mirror backup type, only new and modified files will be backed up every time you run the backup.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Hi again
I have tried the mirror back up and it has been going for an hour and half and is only at 70%. If it is only backing up what has changed today, which is very little, I thought it might be quicker.

Any ideas

Thanks

Hi again
Mirror back up just finished after 3 hrs. I don't know if the below helps.
Total number of files added to backup: 9647

Total number of folders added to backup: 502

Total size of files added to backup: 4,894,613.24 KB

Number of files excluded: 0

Number of folders excluded: 0

Next scheduled backup:

Backup completed at 10/02/2011 21:57:26 with 0 error(s), 2947 warning(s)

Anything you can suggest would be much appreciated.
many thanks

Hi,
Please send us the last backup log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

You can find it if you go to View->Job Logs->Last backup log.

Hi,
It seems Mikes used the destination external hard drive connected via an USB hub. After connecting the external drive directly into the laptop, the backup was done in 30 minutes.
