My hard drive was corrupted and replaced and FBackup 4.6 was started again but with a different username to the original one entered by the technician. A manual full backup worked the first day, but with 7 warnings. It was scheduled to then backup daily, but for a week now has not worked. When I try to edit the scheduler it won't accept any password and it also won't allow me to leave the password empty. I have tried all passwords that might be relevant, but none are accepted. I have tried using the original username and password but that is not accepted. I have changed to mirror backup but that still does not work. How can I get the backup to happen daily as required? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi,
If you select "With Windows Scheduler" option in Backup Properties->Scheduler, you need to use your Windows login username and password.
If you don't have a password, you can use the second option "With Built-in scheduler" which does not require a password.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Thanks!
Changing to the built-in scheduler worked a treat last night. This morning I have a successful backup message.
One more question if you have time - I am a bit confused about the difference between full back up and mirror back up. Is mirror the best to use from now on, so that it just adds any new files or files that have been changed? Does a full back up take much longer, and therefore not necessary to do on a daily basis? The descriptions given for each type of backup do not make it really clear (to me anyway) when or why to select one or the other. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
On a daily basis, you should use Mirror backup to copy only new and modified files.
