My back up is automatically done everyday but for the last few weeks although it finishes and it is successful it stills says job active and I have to forcibly close it when turning my pc off

Have just installed the new version but now it wont open on start up. I go to options then start up and tick the box that says "Start at Windows Start Up" click OK but the tick doesn't stay it defaults to a blank box.
Didn't have this problem with the old version
