The backup process is running in background even if the IPC server message appears. Try to put the bservice.exe file in the exceptions list of the firewall / antivirus.

Do you have the same problem if you disable the antivirus/firewall?
Please make sure the bservice.exe is not blocked on your computer.

When that happens, what is the drive letter listed in Windows Explorer for the USB drive?
Do you have other drives connected to that computer with E: drive letter?

Please close FBackup using Task manager, then rename the Layout.ini file from:
c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Softland\FBackup 5\
Open again FBackup

Hi, You can do the manual renaming if you want as long as you rename them back. As for the second question, if you want to manually restore the files from destination, if you used the Full backup type, you can extract the files with any zip tool as WinZip.
