TYPE 'use adaptive buffer size' & .FKC questions
FBackup v.8.9 question: In properties, type, other, there is no explanation for 'use adaptive buffer size'. What does it do if you put a check mark or no check mark? I read the .FKC file gets deleted after each backup, I have 2 inside the backup folder. What do they do, can they be deleted? Thank you.

Re: noticed FBackup writes to SSD increasing TBW

Re: noticed FBackup writes to SSD increasing TBW
Why does FBackup need to write to the 'source' new and changed files located on my SSD? Shouldn't it only read from the source and write to the destination drive where the backup is saved?
Thanks for the follow-up.

noticed FBackup writes to SSD increasing TBW
Is there a way to reduce the amount of TBW to my SSD when I run FBackup?
I have the following options selected:

Create Full paths
Remove excluded or deleted files
Test after backup/Quick test
Backup empty folders
Thank you.

Re: what does Files skipped: mean when none were excluded
" The excluded files are the files that have been deleted from the source location or have been moved into another folder since the last backup execution. The skipped files are the files that should have been backed up but they were deleted since the backup started (temp files) or FBackup does...

uncheck 'Smart file scanning mode'...
If like me you have had problems with files [often new files] not being backed up that were checked off for back up, I suggest you uncheck 'Smart file scanning mode', the USN journal is bugged. The first back up will take a few hours if you have a lot to back up but subsequent backups will take the ...
