Backup Job Fails with Error Code 1001 – How to Resolve?

Post by anteprandial »

I’ve been using FBackup for about a year now, and it’s been working great until recently. I’m trying to run a scheduled backup job, but it keeps failing with Error Code 1001. The error message says, “Cannot create destination folder. Access is denied.”

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
  1. Checked if the destination folder exists and has proper permissions – it does.
  2. Ran FBackup as an administrator.
  3. Disabled my antivirus temporarily to see if it was blocking the process.
None of these steps worked. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Escape Road System Details:
  • FBackup Version: 9.9.300
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro
  • Backup Type: Mirror
  • Destination: External HDD (NTFS formatted)
Looking forward to your advice!

Hi,

What changed on your system since the problem appeared?
First, please download and install the latest version of FBackup which is currently 9.9.969.

Then, if you still have the problem, try to create a new small backup job for test. Do you have the same problem? what about if you use another destination drive?
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
