The backup catalogs for version 4 (.fkc files) are still in the backup destination.

Try this, it worked for me...
1) Start services.msc
2) Look for FBackup 5 Service
3) Right Click > Properties > Log On
4) Change to "This account" and insert local admin username and password
5) Click Apply>OK then restart the service.
6) Start the application, you should no more receive the error message.

Win 10, 8 Gig memory, latest build of Win 10 as of September 19th, '16.
Dear users,
I noticed with this re-occuring problem on my computer, if you quit the Fbackup retrying of 'do you want to restart the IPC server?' by choosing 'no' then opening Fbackup with a right-click and 'Run as administrator' it launches without problem.
