Desktop files wil not backup

I have some file folders that I maintain on my desktop but I keep getting an error message saying that Desktop is an invalid folder. When this si running the desktop is being displayed. Is that what is causing this error because the desktop is open? How would I back up files on my desktop then?

Hi,
Please make sure you don't use the shortcut for Desktop.

Use the Desktop folder from User's Application Data folder.
