@rxcarl: what version of Windows do you have?
Please make sure the bservice.exe process is not blocked by the antivirus or firewall.

I can confirm for me that on build 5.0.414 with all the .NET framework windows updates on a Server 2003 machine, this is no longer an issue for me.
I did have to kill the process FBackup.exe manually from the task manager, but then when I launched it the next time, the UI loaded and continues to load every time.

So for me, I would suggest this has now been resolved in this build.
