I am new to fbackup but am a religious fanatic about backing up---I backup everything and just love to copy drives--in total--I am using truecrypt on 2 drives so many of the mainstream BU programs will not work nor will the cloning software. I found FB the other day and started playing. It hangs and freezes when it trys to copy SOME of the temporary internet files. I exclude those files and everything runs smoothly. The file specifically that seems to cause the problem is:

Added file C:\Documents and Settings\SteveDell6\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\B80CXWFT\$lazy[1].js

although it could be the "next" file because the above line is the last entry in the log. I like exact copies so I do not want to exclude any folders and want to just run FB with the C and D drives checked---That way I do not have to be concerned about new directories. Any thoughts on what might be happening here?? I am running 7 64 bit, all drivers up to date, i7 processor, C drive is SSD 128mb. D is 1TB. 16 gb memory and like I said, using truecrypt. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi,

There is no need to back up temporary internet files as they will be deleted every few days.

Do you have this problem on the same file every time?

I understand the deletions but the only way that fbackup won't hang is if I uncheck the folder holding the temporary internet files directory. It does not seem to be the same file every time and I should have kept better notes but it was the same directory--"temporary internet files". I can't seem to be able to find the old logs---I am in the middle of a full backup right now---Are the old file logs erased with each new backup??

Hi,

No, the old logs are not deleted after each backup.

Send me the log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com when the problem appears again.
