Hi, new user trying to back up failing D drive (maybe 1.2T of data) and C drive (200G) to an external HDD. It's been 23 hours and we are still at 1%. Wondering if this is normal, or should I do something. PC (Dell XPS 8920 w lots ram) is 7yo and I am doing backup before buying a new one ....

tyvm !

oops, sorry, D drive is the so-called data drive, but actual 'data' files I care about (docs and pdfs and email and web material and some settings and so on) do NOT total 1.2T

Hi,

In the beginning of the backup process, the list of files to be backed up is created.
If there are many files, that can take a while.
Also if you use the Full backup type, all files are added to a zip file in temp.

Please send us the last backup log for that job, to info[at]fbackup[dot]com, to see more information about that backup.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
