I am very satisfied with FBackup. Using it for years. The other day I installed Windows 8. Program works ok when I start the computer. When I stop the program, go to sleepmode I cannot start the program any longer. (Fbackup not working anymore is the message [translated from Dutch])

Is this a known bug or something wrong with mine installation?

Hi,
We don't have such problems here.

Can you please tell me what edition of Windows 8 you have? (Pro or not, 32-bit/64-bit)

Do you have any other backup application installed?

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Hi,

I have Windows 8 Pro 64 bit. FBackup does not work at all now. Even after restart. Reïnstall does'nt work either. No other backup program installed. (other than backup of windows itself)

Sorry. Last post was wrong. FBackup works fine but not after sleep mode. After restart it always works fine.

Hi,
I wasn't able to reproduce the problem here, it works fine even after sleep mode. Is it the only application from your computer having problems after sleep mode?

Yes absolutely the only application with this kind of troubles. I can reproduce it. After a restart the program works ok. After sleep it won't work.

I did an upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8. So not a clean install of W8. The upgrade went without any warning.

What I tried: reinstall app. CCleaner for al old and temp files an regclean.

Weird

Any suggestions for me to try?

Hi,
Please download DebugView (it is free) and open it to monitor the computer when opening Backup4all. Send me the debug log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

More information.

I discovered the following: If I keep the program open when going into sleep mode it works fine after coming out of sleep. If I close the program after that it will not start again!

For me the workaround is now keeping the program open.

Hi,
Can you monitor FBackup with DebugView (freeware application) when it won't start?

Before opening FBackup, make sure DebugView is running. Send me the debug log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com
