I think the problem with the scheduler is linked to the fact that if the fbackup icon is seen in your tray, the program is probably not running. You have to right click on the icon and select "show fbackup" which will then open the application into the main window. The program is now running and anything scheduled to backup will work as it should.
Developers, you may want to rectify this problem. A lot of people see the icon and assume the program is running in the background.
