starting FB5 restarted install

Post by MikeyChris »

After running FB5 for a couple days, I have a couple issues today.

First, when I started FB5 this morning to check the log, a window popped up telling me something like Windows was configuring FB5 for installaltion. Not sure what that was all about as I had not seen that before, and had been using FB5 for a couple days.

Second, each backup, restore and test log that had been generated (and there was about 6 logs in the log folder last night, the total well below 20MB) was gone, and when i opened the log folder I saw a new log had been generated at the time I opened FBackup 5. Not much in it as you can see here:

What bothers me is the apparent lack of Admin permission. What's going on?

I like the new interface, but I think I will join the folks going back to vesion 4 as it was much more stable than this version.

Hi,

Do you use an administrator user account?

Yes, whenever I use FBackup I am logged in as admin. In fact (and I know I should stop doing this) I am always logged in as me (admin) unless I surf the web (I use a limited standard user account then). Since I do a lot of file manipulation, program installs/modifications, etc. it is just easier to be logged in as admin. I should add this is my home computer and I am the only one with access to it.

Hi,

As I mentioned in another post you opened, that status is before the backup and is not relevant to the backup result. I think we you should focus on the actual backup problems and find the causes.
