System Stall - Windows 7

I am using Windows 7 since release in Oct 09 and had no issues at all. Since last 2 days I am experiencing system shut off after displaying BLUE Screen. I had installed Fbackup 4.3 few days back (no other application/software was installed after Fbackup).
Fbackup therefore is my first suspect. I didn’t face any problem using Fbackup except that it seems to slow down my system noticeably. I am therefore uninstalling to check if Fbackup is clashing to stall the system.
I would appreciate any insight.

Hi,
We don't have such problems here and no other user reported such problems.

Please make sure you have the latest version of FBackup 4.3 build 179.

I too am experiencing the blue screen of death on Windows 7 32bit

I re-installed the OS and everything works fine. I download the latest version of Fbackup and then I plug in the external hard drive with my backup files. I run the restore and it restores everything but reports there were quite a few errors.

This is when things go horribly bad. I can't restart the computer without the blue screen. It then goes into a loop and never gets beyond the Windows welcome screen and I can't start via the BIOS.
I still have all my files and folders on an external drive...the question now is, how do I access them without the blue screen returning?
BTW I have tried to repair the OS unsuccessful) and have re-installed the OS three or four times now.
Any help/insight would be much appreciated.

Did you restore files related to the Windows OS?

When you ask did I restore the OS files...I can say that I have fulled re-installed the OS. I did this as a completely separate exercise from Fbackup.
Since my last posting, I have connected the backup drive to new computer (same Windows 7 OS) and clicked on the properties of the zipped Fbackup folder. It tells me it's 228GB.
I then extracted everything, as per the instructions on the forum... http://www.fbackup.com/forum/topic/how- ... rive-crash
but when I look at the properties of the extracted files, it's only 15GB and sure enough, when I go in and look around, it's missing tons of stuff.
On this new PC, I have not yet tried restoring from the Fbackup folder, using the Fbackup restore button as I'm a little scared of the blue screen.
Can you suggest something else?

I meant did you restored some system files using FBackup?

When you restored the backup using FBackup were any system files overwritten?

I had been having Windows problems, so I was desperate to update my backup. It failed on a number of occasions and I even tried using the Windows 7 back up option but to no avail. The one back up that DID work was, was a Fbackup full back up i.e. the compressed Zip folder option.
I reinstalled the OS (and the latest version of Fbackup).
I then clicked on the Fbabckup Restore button. I don't remember exactly what happened thereafter, but I don't remember ever being asked if I wanted to overwrite some of the system files.
When it finished, Fbackup reported quite a few errors, and that's when things went rapidly downhill.

Sorry I can't be more precise.
As I have unzipped the Fbackup folder, is there somewhere in there that I could locate a error log file? However, as I pointed out earlier, even though the folder properties says 200GB, once extracted, there's only 15GB or so on show.

Hi,
As I can see from the backup catalog you sent me, you backed up the entire C: drive, including the Windows folder.
Restoring the backup just overwrote the Windows folder and files which were in use. That was not good as you damaged the Windows installation.
Please note FBackup was not designed for system backup, but for data files backups only.
