Too slow - especially Test

I have backed up my Windows Vista system to a USB Drive using FBackup v4.5 (Build 234) using the "Full" type with no encryption.
BUT it took nearly 6 hours to back 59 GB (I did exclude temporary files, paging file, hibernate file and my photos, etc.!) in 208,000 files.
BUT I have now stopped the Test which has taken 24 hours to Test 40,000 files (so would take over 5 days to complete!)!
So this slowness really makes it unuseable unless I have missed something?
Please comment.
Thanks

Henry

A bit more information for you.
The progress bar was showing 99% for the last 14 or 15 hours (at least) when it was Testing.
The compressed size was over 36 GB - the ratio was 62% so only a saving of 38%.

Next time I will try using Mirror instead of full as the time taken and inability to easily see what files are in the backup is not worth the saving achieved!
Does anyone have any other comments/suggestions?
Thanks

Henry

Hi,
What is the reading speed of your USB device?
Also please note FBackup was not designed for system backup, so you won't be able to restore the operating system.

You should use FBackup for data files backup only.

We do not recommend to use FBackup in order to backup system files / installed software.

We encourage users to use it only for their own work: files and folders.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
