How does one track down whether this is something to be concerned about or something that I can exempt (like recyclebin or system volume information) because it doesn't related to any actual data they needs to be saved. Will also be asking on TBird forum

Hi,

The telemetry data seems to be something less important.
But you can check the permissions for those files. Try to manually copy them to another location.
What about if you run the backup with Thunderbird closed?
Does it works?
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
