Update Killed My Jobs
Update Killed My Jobs
The recent update to 5.4 build 813 caused my scheduled backup jobs to disappear and quit working as they did before. Please let me know if they can be restored without having to recreate them.

Hi,
Do you use the same user account? Are the scheduled tasks listed in Control Panel->Task Scheduler?

Re: Update Killed My Jobs
When I did the update and started FBackup, the FBackup 5 opening screen did not show any defined jobs. Previously two jobs were listed ... my daily mirror backup of my laptop to a network drive and a weekly backup of the FBackup Configuration files to the local hard drive on the laptop.Softland wrote:Hi,

After posting this question, I continued to read other threads and search my hard drive for the jobs. I found some .fkc files in a folder named MyFBackup and was able to get them to run properly. I'm not sure what happened since prior updates have not caused this issue ... previously defined jobs have always been listed after the upgrade. For some reason, the new version after the last upgrade did not retain that information. Thought others may have the same issue so your answer to my question might be of general interest. I'm not sure where in the file structure you normally put job info but in my case the jobs were in the Public Documents/My FBackup folder.
I have always been running FBackup from the same user account. Not sure where in the Win7 Control Panel to look for Task Scheduler.
Re: Update Killed My Jobs
Just noticed that the jobs had not been running as previously scheduled. They ran when triggered manually but not automatically. So schedule info was lost at the update and was not restored with the fkc files. I just added schedule info again and will watch to see if they run properly.

I just checked and the daily backup did not run as scheduled even though I added the schedule and the jobs are listed under "Scheduled" list.fullerdf wrote:Just noticed that the jobs had not been running as previously scheduled. Hi,
Please try to manually create a scheduled task for another program, from Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Task Scheduler.
Does it ran?
If yes, please compare it with the task created by FBackup.

Re: Update Killed My Jobs
Is there a way to go back to the prior version of FBackup5? I am at version 813 now and it is not working properly. Please either fix the issues with 813 or help me get it working on the prior version again.

Hi,
The scheduler works fine here.
Did you followed my instructions from the previous reply in order to identify the problem?
