Well I make a mirror-type backup on my memory stick.
Then formated the stick.
Start backup... Fbackup says no new files added, backup successfull.
In fact very successfull, memory stick empty as before.
How is that possible????

Shouldnt that be adressed???

Wouldn't you call that an error???

Hi,
Was this the first time you executed that backup?

Hi

No of course not.

The first time you execute a backup its working fine.

But every subsequent time if one or more or all backup files disappear fbackup is not noticing that.

Hi,
Please note you should never delete the backup manually.

FBackup is using a backup catalog (fkc file) stored locally.

It does not look in destination to compare every time the files in destination with the source files. It compares the source files with the information stored in catalog.
If you manually delete the backups in destination, formatting the drive, FBackup doesn't know that. It looks in the backup catalog and compare it with the source files. It founds nothing to back up - that is why your stick is empty.

Hi

then I would suggest you add a feature called something like "check the backed up files" into the mirror options.
This would be useful if you are not sure wheter all mirrored files still exist or if you want to make the same mirror on different Harddrives/memory sticks etc.
What do you think about that?
