Transferring FBackup Jobs to a New PC

I need to build a new PC system. Will I have to re-write/configure all of my FBackkup jobs over again? Is there some way of copying some FBackup configuration files and then restoring them on my new PC so that I can avoid this chore? I have a lot of backup jobs running and I really don't want to re-write them on the new PC. Help on this would surely be appreciated. Thanx .... Dan

Hi,

You should create a backup of FBackup configurations using the plugin from FBackup.
On the new computer, install FBackup and open the .fkc catalog file for the backup configurations job.
The backup job will be recreated in FBackup.
Press Restore to get all the configurations and jobs back.

OK - sounds like this is just what I need - but - where do I find the "plugin for creating a backup of the FBackup configurations?" Is it a menu item or is it some app I need to download and install from the FBackup website.

Thanx ....

Hi,

When creating a new backup job, on the sources page, you have a list of predefined backups to select. You can find the "FBackup configurations" there. Select it and press Save.

OK - got it. Now - when I get my new PC, what do I need to do with these files in order to restore my backup jobs? Do I simply copy them into the FBackup folder? Thanx ... Dan

Hi,

I just told you that in the previous reply:
On the new computer, install FBackup and open the .fkc catalog file for the backup configurations job.
The backup job will be recreated in FBackup.
Press Restore to get all the configurations and jobs back.
