I have a daily backup scheduled for each day of the week. So naturally, for example, when the Monday Daily backup runs it over writes the Monday backup daytaand log file. I would expect that.
What I don't understand is that every night the daily log is writen over. So, for example, if the last log was for Monday, the log file name is Monday Daily_20110530xxxxx.backup.log. Tuesday night the Tuesday Daily backup runs and Tuesday morning the only log in the LOGS folder is Tuesday Daily_20110531xxxxx.backup.log. Monday (and all previous day's logs) are gone. Is that normal? All 7 of the daily backups are setup as individual backup jobs, IOW there are 7 backup jobs (Monday thru Sunday) not one job with seven parts under SCHEDULE.

Hi,
Please open FBackup and go to View->Job Logs->Open Log folder.

Can you see the files here?
What is the total size of the Log folder?

In that directory there are two files. One is named FBackup.LOG and is 18KB and is a sumamry of all backups done since the log was purged on 5/23/11.
The other file is named Monday Daily_20110606093842.backup.log and it is being generated right now since I am running a manual backup because the scheduled backup for last night did not run. According to the Task Scheduler log, the backup began at 12:00 AM and ended and 12:04 am. This begining & ending without completing the task started a few days ago and I am not sure why (see my other posts on this).
The Monday Daily_20110606093842.backup.log file replaced the file that was there before I started the current manual backup and it was named Tuesday Daily_20110605xxxxxx.
Every day the daily log from the previous day is writen over even though they are different jobs with different names.
Not sure if it matters or not, but I made duplicate jobs and then modified the day of the week, etc. for each day Sun thru Sat (7 Daily backups). In Windows Task Scheduler the name of the task isfba_Copy of Monday Daily (or whatever day I copied). In Task Scheduler the TRIGGERS are shown as the proper day of the week.
Thanx for your help.

Hi,
We don't have such problems here.

Can you give us access to your computer using TeamViewer?

Okay I emailed the setting to you. Please check this before Saturday morning as I will only be running Team View until then as I view it as a security risk.
Thanx.

Hi,
There was no problem at all with the log files. For every backup execution a new log file was created without deleting the old files.

OK, after months of fooling with this, I have found that **IF** I do several backups in THE SAME DAY all the log files are in the log folder. However, doing a backup on each day causes the previous day's log to be overwritten with the current day's log (the file names are different).
Not sure why I am the only one on the planet with this problem, but that happens to me a lot, so it must be me :-)
I only have two files in my log folder - FBackup.log (listing of all backups run since the file was last purged) and the daily log for the last day that a daily was run. Today I have a third log for the monthly backup I just did manually but it will probably be gone tomorrow.
I will change the attribute of today's log to read only and see what happens tonight.
