Every time I back up my data drive I get the same warning:

Skipping file M:\System Volume Information\MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase Source error (code 5). Access is denied.

But I can't find any such file on M: (my usb external data drive).

1. What is the purose of this file?

2. Is this warning important?

3. What can I do about it? (if anything).

I have tried removing and re-installing FBackup (having switched off my firewall first) but I still get the same warning.

Hi,
Please open Backup Properties->Sources.

Uncheck this folder: M:/System Volume Information

Press Save and run again the backup.

Thanks, but I've done that and it made no difference, I still get the same warning, and when I go back into Backup Properties - Sources, M:System Volume Information has re-checked itself, even though I had previously unchecked it and pressed Save.

Hi,
It seems you are not using the latest version of FBackup 4.6.260.

Please download it from: http://www.soft112.com/fbackup-free-bac ... tml?auto=y

I just tried to install the latest version of FBackup, but the installation failed with the following message:

An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file: DeleteFile failed; error code 5. Access is denied.

Please, what do I do next?

The name of the file is given above in my first post. It isn't running in Task Manager

M:\System Volume Information\MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase.

I have searched my computer butcannot find a file of this name. What is the 'Remote Database, anyway?

Hi,
You don't understand.

You said the installation failed with a message when trying to replace an existing file.

Which file?
