Restore Failure?

I am trying to restore some of the files from yesterday's automatic backup. The Version 5.0.218 restore job has been running for hours but has not completed even though the original mirror backup took only a few minutes. The progress bar is still at zero after about 7 hours.
Sorry but if this is "normal" it is not expected or desirable. Rather it seems to me that a bug in the restore process may be revealing itself. Please help!
P.S. Other info may be relevant. 1) The "bRestore.exe" task is consuming about 50% of the CPU (and has been from the beginning of the job over 7 hours ago). 2) I have tried to do this restore job several times (cancelled after a couple of hours the first time ... sooner other times). 3) Tried several different ways of restoring all files, some files, etc. 4) I had trouble even looking at the backup files in the mirror copy (on my network computer) while the restore job was running due to some sort of "permissions" issue with Win 7 File Manager (the files are in a "public" folder that I should be able to see without restrictions. 5) Later I did a manual copy of the main files (about 1.5GB) of interest in less than 15 minutes (FBackup not running). 6) These were working files for an Audacity recording of a 5 hour radio show. After the manual copy, Audacity would not open the files normally so something else was needed to fully restore the recording besides the main body of files Audacity creates in the recording's data folders.
