Problem with backups after restoring backup jobs on new PC

Hi guys,

I run into some Fbackup behaviour I don't understand, after starting to use a new PC. My goal is to install fbackup again and continue to use it for my backups.

After installing fbackup on the new PC, I imported the backup jobs. The source and destination paths remained the same. I made sure of that. I also checked the backup job properties, all ok.

So I start to run a job (mirror type, deleting non-existing files), and to my big surprise fbackup starts overwriting all files in the destination folder. I now for sure, because I was realtime monitoring the destination folder.

Why does it do that? I'm not happy about writing hundreds of gigabytes of data to my external backup disk without being necessary.

My old PC ran Windows XP x86 with latest fbackup, the new one runs on Windows 8.1 x64.

I hope this behaviour can be explained and that there is no big problem with my backups....

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi,

Please send us the last backup log to info[at]fbackup[dot]com to see what the problem was.

Hi, I just e-mailed you the file.

It finds and adds all the files that are allready existing on the destination drive and are definately unchanged (like my .jpg's). It overwrites all my existing files on the destination drive...

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi Fbackup,

Any news yet? (I replied on the e-mail you send me, asking for my log file)

Kind regards,

Roland

Hi,

Were the source files copied from the old computer to the new one?
In this case, please note the creation data was modified for all files, so FBackup sees them as modified and will back them up.
