The backup from one hard disk to another - takes a few hours

The test of the software before the backup - very slow
The backup from one hard disk to another - takes a few hours.
I have another software that checks a change between hundreds of gigabytes - in a few minutes.
Why does it take hours here?
I perform a mirror backup [when in fact the change is only in dozens of files out of the hundreds of gigabytes].
I think that in the past the software did it faster.
I would love to hear where the problem is.
Thanks

Hi,

Please send us the backup logs for those jobs, to see why it took so long. Send them to info[at]fbackup[dot]com

Hi,

It seems you are trying to back up 845 GB from two drives (not sure if they are both local drives or one is a mapped drive) to an external drive.
The total backup time is approx. 5 hours.
How fast would be if you manually copy few GB from Z drive to external drive Y: ?
Is the external drive connected to an USB 3.0 port?

hello
thank you for your response.
I do indeed use an external USB drive, USB 3. I back up from an internal drive to an external one.
But that doesn't seem to be the problem to me, I now tried to use a program "FreeFileSync" that compares files and backups, and it finished checking within a minute, and then copied and updated 10 GB in about 4-5 minutes.

Hi,

845 GB in 5 hours means an average of 14 GB in 5 minutes for FBackup.

hello
You're not right, since here I'm not backing up 850 GB, I'm backing up a few hundred MB in total [mirror backup]. Almost all the material is already on the second drive.
Beyond that, you see that other software does it in a few minutes.
Maybe it is possible to control the way the software compares files? [size, date modified, etc.]

Hi,

The log file you sent us shows:
[27-11-22 15:39:48] Folders found to backup: 4,528
[27-11-22 15:39:48] Files found to backup: 68,963 (844,947,236.89 KB)

If not all those files should not be backed up, please send us the .fkc catalog file for that job and let us know the name and path of a file which should not be backed up.
