Fast Mirror not copying changed files

I am using the fast mirror option and I just found a situation where FBackup is not copying changed files.
I have a music folder that had songs that were too loud.
I modified them with MP3Cut, downloaded them from mp3cut to the download folder, Mp3cut changed the song name song.mp3 to song mp3cut.mp3 and the date had changed to the date I modified them.
Then I renamed to songs removing the mp3cut word and copied and replaced them in the original folder.
I ran the FBackup to validate than the new songs were backed up and they still had the old date.

So until this is fixed I have removed the fast mirror option and am doing full backups.
Let me know if questions.
Thanks.

Hi,

Please open Backup Properties->Advanced page.
Uncheck the "Smart file scanning mode" option.
Press Save and run again the backup.
Are the files backed up now?

Yes! That worked.
I guess the "Smart" option is not so smart? Or am I missing something?
Thank you for your prompt response.

Hi,

I'm glad the problem is solved.

Thanks for the quick solution regarding the "Smart file scanning mode." I have another question:

When using the full backup option, does FBackup retain the original timestamps of the files, or does it update them to the time of the backup? I'm concerned about keeping track of when the files were originally created or modified.

Hi,

When using the Full backup type, the original timestamp of the files is preserved in catalog. On restore, the timestamp will be restored too.

Please note that Full backup will always back up all files. The old backup is deleted as a single backup version is kept in destination.
