Error with Scheduled Backup to Network location

I'm afraid I haven't been able to find a solution in previous posts, so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.
We are upgrading our machines to FBackup5 so I've been trialing it on one PC. Our current set up is a scheduled daily backup at night that mirrors a large folder to our NAS. The backup does run manually but fails to run automatically, with the error "Cannot create folder. The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect".
So far I've added the entire FBackup folder to the windows firewall exception list and my user account has been added to the Local Security Policy (and it is also an Administrator account). It's important that the backup can run while the PC is locked and users are logged out.
We also have the same setup on another machine that is simply mirroring a folder to a local harddrive but it seems to have the same error.
Any insight you could give would be appreciated.
Thanks!
