Is there a way to reduce the amount of TBW to my SSD when I run FBackup?
I have the following options selected:
Fast Mirror
Create Full paths
Remove excluded or deleted files
Test after backup/Quick test
Backup empty folders
Thank you.

Hi,
When using the Mirror backup type, all source files are copied to destination in the original format.
After that only new and modified files will be backed up.
The other backup type available in FBackup is Full, which will back up all files every time, resulting in a higher TBW.
You can use the incremental backup type from our commercial edition Backup4all, to back up only new and modified files in a zipped archive.

Re: noticed FBackup writes to SSD increasing TBW
Why does FBackup need to write to the 'source' new and changed files located on my SSD? Shouldn't it only read from the source and write to the destination drive where the backup is saved?
Thanks for the follow-up.

Hi,
FBackup is not writing to source. How could it write to source from source?
FBackup will only copy the files from backup source to backup destination.

I thought all backed up files get written to by having their 'attribute' changed.

Hi,
FBackup uses it's own backup catalog for each backup job to store information about the backed up files and their attributes.
The archive bit or any other attribute of the sources, is not changed.
