Backup job won't finish and can't be cancelled

Post by itm »

I have a job which has been running for several days now. I have tried cancelling it, without success. I also tried deleting the associated .fkc file on the destination, and stopping/restarting the FBackup service. It just won't budge. I'm running Fbackup v9.9.948 on Windows 11.
The log is attached.
Any ideas??

Code: Select all

Hi,

Please open Task Manager and kill the bbackup.exe process.
Then restart FBackup.
Run again the backup, do you have the same problem?

I closed all 3 FBackup processes in Task Manager, then restarted FBackup and restarted the backup job. Once again, it does not complete. It just seems to hang after writing this line to the log:

Code: Select all

Opening file ":memory:"
It never gets removed from the "Running" list, and remains highlighted in green.

Hi,

Please close FBackup and rename this folder to something else:
"c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Softland\FBackup 9\"
Then open FBackup and create a new backup job.
Do you still have the problem?

Yes that seemed to work, but of course I have now lost my other backup jobs. Is there any way of restoring them from the old folder?

Hi,

Yes, you can open in FBackup the .fkc catalog files from the backup destination or from the renamed folder.
That will load the backup jobs in FBackup.
