Hi All,
I am trialing a lot of backup software and FBackup is currently at the top of my list. I like to run my backups manually to make sure everything open in other programs is saved before the back up. I'd like FBackup to just close itself when it is done.
Questions:
Does one of the options in "Properties > Advanced > Run action after backup > Run program or action" just close down FBackup?
If so, which one? I don't want to auto-shut-down windows, just FBackup.
If not could it be a request for inclusion?
Thanks
HM
Auto Close not Auto Shut down

Hi,
The option to close Backup4all after the backup is done is available only for scheduled backups.
To find that option, open Backup Properties->Scheduler->Add
Under "Execute" section, you can find the option to "Close after run".

Hi,
You can also create a shortcut for that job and use the same option as for scheduler.
To create a shortcut, right click the backup job and select "Create shortcut".
Then you just double click the shortcut to start the backup.

Thanks but it is a little more complicated than that. It's not the starting I am interested in, it is the closing.
On my D: drive before I run FBackup, I need to shut down some apps that are running with locked files as I do NOT want then backed up open, with the Shadow Copy.
I have written a wrapper app for FBackup that closes my list of apps, then runs FBackup and when I close FBackup, it restarts the list of apps again.
It all works just fine and now the only human intervention needed is to close FBackup when it has finished. IF I could have FBackup auto-close itself then life would be perfect.
Here's a screen shot...

Hi,
You did not understand.
Follow these steps and you will see that I gave you a solution:
Open FBackup
Right click the backup job and select "Create Shortcut"
Under "Execute" section, you can find the option to "Close after run".
Press OK.
This way, FBackup will close after the job is executed.
