On both of the latest two versions. Seems to me that it can't handle a really long path/file name. I have attached an example of one of the files it was hanging on.

Am also seeing similar issues that have never occurred in the past 9 months. The backup just seems to freeze and not complete. Sometimes it freezes at 0% others at 1%.
Has there been any resolution to this issue

I just came here and registered to say the same thing. Backups just freezing. In fact, when I just tried (twice) to manually run the problem backup, it stopped on the FIRST file. The third attempt copied a few files and stopped. Last night's scheduled backup ran for 20 minutes and stopped.
FBackup is using 11 to 13% of CPU after it "freezes" (until I hit Cancel).
P.S. I think the issue that many are describing is different to the original issue in this post.

Anyone with this issue notice if it's gone with the latest version 9.0.333? I haven't tried it.

When the backup freezes, please try to restart the Volume Shadow Copy from Control Panel->Services.
Does it solves the problem?

Disabled all scheduled V9 backups and reinstalled V8.9 which works perfectly. I really don't see what V9 does for me so I might as well stay on V8.9.

So when will this be fixed?? Manually restarting a service is not a good solution. Especially for non-savvy users

I assume they're confirming what the issue is so that they can fix it. You're right, manually restarting the service is not a solution for ANYONE - as a lot of people (including me) would schedule their backups for the middle of the night and expect it to be finished in the morning.
Now that they appear to have discovered the issue, it should hopefully be just a matter of time before a fix/work around is developed - and then it needs to go through the roll-out process.
