In this day of increasing number of "portable apps" which can be run from a USB flash disk etc., can you tell me whether FBackup has to be installed on the main system disk or can it be run from such a USB disk?
Thanking you,
Ken

Hi,
You cannot run FBackup from an USB disk. If you want a portable backup application, we recommend you Backup4all Portable which is a commercial application.

Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html

Actually, I think I asked the wrong question here. The query arose because I had just done a full re-installation of Windows and all my apps and was looking for a way to shorten this process by having as many apps as possible on my second HD and not on the C:\ drive. Installing Windows was easy but doing all the apps one by one and activating etc took ages.
Would this be possible?

Hi,
FBackup needs to be installed again after the OS is reinstalled.

Naturally it has to be re-installed if it is on the C drive which has just been reformatted. The question is, if it had been installed on the D:\ drive which was not formatted would it be able to operate on files on any of the available drives.

Hi,
If FBackup is located on another drive, you don't need to reinstall it. You can just start the application.

Please note FBackup stores the program settings and local cache on C: drive (by default).

You should run a backup of the FBackup configurations in order to keep the program's settings after formatting the C: drive.
