Trying to Reconnect Mapped Drive Y: upon startup

Post by redsho1999 »

At one time I had a backup that saved to a network drive mapped to drive Y. That drive letter is no longer used but every time I start Fbackup (V7 and now V8) I get the trying to reconnect message. How can I fix this error? Thank you.

Hi,

Does the Y drive (or another drive too) still appears in File Explorer (or My Computer) as disconnected?
If yes, please remove it and then try again to open FBackup.
Do you still have the problem?

I have this same issue ... but I don't want to remove the drives from My Computer as sometimes they are available (depending on whether I work at home or in the office). Is there some other way to stop FBackup from trying to scan for them at start-up?

TIA,

Nick Goldman

Hi,

You cannot avoid that.
Do you know you can monitor your backups remotely with Backup4all Monitor? You can read more here: https://www.backup4all.com/backup4all-monitor.html
